Am I awake?
Am I awake when
My emotions speed by my intellect
And my attitude misses this all?
Am I awake
When the centres of my mind
Diverge without aim?
Am I awake
When my pen writes
And my mind nay understands?
Am I awake
When the law of three
(The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost)
Has only two meanings?
Where is a school
With teachers of reality?
My conscience is astray,
My search for truth gone awry;
I look but cannot do,
I have many rulers
And many directions I must
follow.
I go this way, and I go that,
Yet I end where I have
begun.
No, I cannot do. Too many leaders
and not just
One direction to follow …
My fellow man speaks to me,
I tell him my knowledge
He tells me his, we go away.
Each of us understanding only
What we have felt, and what
We know we nay understand.
A stupid saint, a helpless yogi,
No. The neglect is what I flee.
Where is balance to make me see?
Where is convergence to make me hear?
Where is my school, is it near!
Am I awake when
My emotions speed by my intellect
And my attitude misses this all?
Am I awake
When the centres of my mind
Diverge without aim?
Am I awake
When my pen writes

Am I awake
