The talons of time swept upon that garden of beauty,
And man saw nakedness there, and so life’s vanity
Entered the Golden Age.
The mighty One saw this, and then struck Ten Laws in rage.
The people of the book took, that One, into the wilderness.
Then, One person saw the fall of a city far,
Fallen in fiery thrust.
After that, a pagan
Guessed the Silver Age.
For the city had fallen
From the mighty One’s rage.
The talons’ grip grew heavy and the empire fell,
But not before a child of the book was born to
Warn against a fiery hell.
Then his words fell to misconstrue.
And an age it was anew.
The Iron Age, and knights grew strong for thoughts misconstrued.
To kill their brothers for brotherhood.
Then the talons took us to fields of open thought,
And production sought to solve all problems through today.
Now of late the talons take us to our end,
And with Hell’s fire we play.
We seek and find only the plastic age.
And man saw nakedness there, and so life’s vanity
Entered the Golden Age.
