Barry was my friend
He taught me to care
About family and loyalty.
He taught me that helping others in time of need is just what

He taught me how to dance with numbers
How to balance and forgive whatever debts life may bring
He taught me how to sit Shiva with me for my father’s passing
And my grandmother’s release as well.
He taught me of the fungibility of money;
He taught me how to skate and dance with the IRS

I did not know Barry Weiner well enough or dwell with him
In his time of great need whilst he was busy giving of himself.
It was not enough time;
As tears soak my face I say goodbye --- to a great man.
